BS Brand Beef Jerky

BS Brand Beef Jerky

Grade: D

Blah... This stuff taste like all the other "mainstream" products you can buy at any Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, or any other generic stores in America. It might be a little more peppery than those products, but it all tastes the same to me. Their website says that they started making Jerky 4 years ago and that their friends told them that this was the best jerky they ever tasted. Well, to put it bluntly, their friends have no taste. Might as well put Jeff Foxworthy's or WWE's name on this stuff, because they all taste the same to me. Bought it for $5.95 on the Beef Jerky Emporium's web site, but is available on their site for $5.00 for the 2.25 ounce size. If you can't get enough from the Wal-Mart crap out there, then this is for you. For me, I won't even finish the bag and give it my dog as treats.

"No Bull, Just A Little Taste Of Heaven"

Good flavorful jerky, has a slight BBQ flavor. It's really good, I would have given it an A if the flavor was a little more powerful. Very good consistency. Goes great with a beer or two. Bought it from the Beef Jerky Emporium, could not find a web site for Dave's Meat Market. Cost was $2.25 for 1 ounce which isn't too bad. I'd definitely get this again. Good stuff.

Bridgford Shredded Fine Cut Beef Jerky

Bridgford Shredded Fine Cut Beef Jerky

Grade: B+

In case you don't already know. The majority of the time I find most commercial brands of beef jerky just average, and as you read on an earlier review I gave Bridgford Original Beef Jerky a C-, but there's something about this shredded beef jerky that I love. The Shredded Bridgford jerky has a completely different taste than other Bridgford products. It has a natural jerky flavor that is very good. It provides a good shredded consistency that is very natural tasting. It's not peppery or sweet, it just tastes like a good jerky. I can probably eat 6 cans of this stuff a night. I find it at every Dollar General or Family Dollar store that I've ever been to. When you break down the cost it's really costly, $1.25 for .32 ounces! But it tastes good and I find myself buying 4 or 5 canisters at a time. If only other Bridgford products tasted so good!

Hard Times Beef Jerky

Hard Times Real Beef Jerky

Grade: C

"A Toothpick in every pack"

Yep, and there sure was a toothpick in my pack, as you can see from the picture. Pretty average jerky. Kind of peppery, a very slight smoky flavor. Really mediocre. As I was trying the jerky, I really wanted to like it. The consistency is awesome, and like the packaging says it's sliced meat, not the pressed stuff that passes for jerky these days. But no matter how hard I tried I could not find anything to make this jerky stand out in taste. It just does not have enough flavor. It's not bad, just average. I'd buy this before I buy any of the national brands that are available at every store in America, but I just wish they would add a little more flavor to it. I bought this for $5.50 for a 2.5 ounce bag at the Beef Jerky Emporium, but the jerky is available at their website, The problem with their website ordering system is that if you order from them you got to buy a lot of their product, at least 24- 1 ounce packages or 12- 2.5 ounce packages. Too much for me. Again average jerky that I wish had a little more flavor.

Fesperman's Beef Jerky

I recently ordered about 6 different types of jerky from the Beef Jerky Emporium site, and this is the first one I tried in that order. The packaging is kind of plain, but what it lacks in packaging it makes up for in flavor. The first time I tried it, I thought to myself, this must contain molasses because it's kind of sweet, and sure enough it did. It has a great sweet flavor, it definitely has a subtle molasses flavor but it's not overpowering. It also has a liquid smoke taste too. The consistency is chewy and moist, not dry at all. It's actually pretty addictive and hard to stop eating. This is a very good jerky, if you're into a jerky that is a little sweet and smoky. If you prefer a more peppery jerky you may want to try Fesperman's Peppered flavor jerky (even though I haven't yet). The Beef Jerky Emporium sells it for $8.00 for a 4 ounce bag. But it's also available at the same price, on their website,, they also have different flavors available, like, Peppered, Hot, and Garlic. When I order from them again, I will probably get this one and try the Garlic flavor as well.
