Smoky Mountain Venison Jerky

Smoky Mountain Venison Jerky

Grade: B

This is the second bag of Smoky Mountain jerky that I review. The first one was the Elk jerky and now I get to try the Venison jerky. The flavor is about the same as the Elk jerky, but I get a hint more flavor of a garlic flavor. It's not overpowering but I can definitely tell it's there. The flavors seem to come out more than in the Elk jerky, but basically they are the same. A touch of sweetness, not spicy or peppery just a good combination of flavors, definitely some worcestershire sauce in there. The texture is like the Elk, dry but not overly dried just like I like my jerky. I love Venison but could not tell the difference between this jerky and beef jerky. Like the Elk, I wouldn't pay extra just for the Venison because it tastes like beef to me. Overall a good jerky with good flavor but nothing special that I would pay extra for.
