Incredible Jerky - Hot Jamaican Flavor

Incredible Jerky - Hot Jamaican Flavor

Grade: B

I recently got 4 different jerkys to try from Incredible Jerky. Looking at the packaging, you can tell this is not your normal jerky company. The packaging is the jerky in a "foodsaver" vacuum bag. But you know what, who cares about packaging, I kind of like it, it shows that this stuff is not overly processed like a lot of mainstream jerky out there. I know what you're saying, enough about the packaging, what about the jerky! Let's start with the texture, the jerky is definitely not a dry variety, but very moist. It's a little moister than I like my jerky, but I can live with that, the chew was very good, and you can tell it's a high quality product. The taste "tastes" just like the name states. It has a Jamaican jerky flavor and is quite hot. It was a little too hot for my taste buds, but I definitely finished it all with no problem. The flavor is very unique. I found the jerky had a good taste and a nice texture, but it wasn't enough to push it to an A for me. You could do worse out there as this jerky is not as dull as some mainstream brands. The jerky can be bought on Incredible Jerky's website, . On the site they have some very interesting varieties of beef jerky that they make, they also make chicken jerky (which I will review in the future). There is a price list on the site and since their Paypal system is not in place you will need to contact them to get shipping and payment information. In summary, this flavor of Incredible Jerky, was a little too spicy for my tastes, but if you're looking for a unique tasting jerky you should enjoy this one.

If you want to look professional you should not sell or give you product out in a food saver package. The look just is not there. It does not make people want to try this, it looks like someones science project.

In the review it says this is a high quality product how do you come to that you don't explain ?

The packaging tells me that this company doen't take pride in their presentation first off.

I don't belive the chef bit!!

These people say that their 3rd generation chefs, then they should know better that presentation is everything. If they truly are chefs I'm not seeing it.

The freezer vacuum bag and letter label for packaging Come on. I'm not buying it.

Sograte jerky is the way to go!

After reading the review I thought I might like to try this jerky
so I was inquiring about placing an order and recieved an auto response saying

We are currently away, with no
access to e-mail. We will return on November 2, 2009, and respond to
your e-mail at that time.

Well here it's Nov 8, 2009

I don't understand do they want business or not.

i got the same autoresponse, but got a reply from them within a few hours. i told them that their autoresponder is still on.

my neighbor gave me a sample of jerky and told them its form these guys. i liked it, so im going to try a lb. neighbor's jerky was kind of dry though. he said they asked these guys to make it dry, so i assume they make by request/to order?

Agree with HArold - i dont give a hoot about packaging, im eating jerky, not packaging, id rather have a good product in plain packaging at a good price.

will let all know how my taste-test of their jerky comes out. i got a lb of hickory smoked - requested "not so moist"

Dude that is just totally unappetizing, looks like something someone dropped after eating.

I personally wouldn't buy anything packaged and looking like that much less promote it for sale in this manner.

Wow, didn't think there would be so much feedback on this small company. Let me explain my review further....

I really don't care about packaging. I'm a big supporter of everything independent, indie music, indie books, etc. I don't care about packaging at all, in fact I kind of like the DIY packaging. In fact, I'd rather have a good product in a "foodsaver" bag than crappy jerky in slick packaging like Oberto or Jack's Links.

The jerky has a good taste and is better than a lot of the other "average" stuff out there. As I eat more and more jerky I find that a lot of jerky starts tasting the same and a lot of companies don't stand out, this jerky stands out and is different.

If people don't like my review of this variety, then they probably won't like my upcoming review of their original chicken jerky.

Harold, how did you find these folks? I thought tyeh were the best kept little secret. someone i know in upstate NY recommended these guys to me and i've bene buying wholesale from them for my business - i had no idea they do sell to individuals as well, or maybe they just started. i think its important for everyone to realize that this isnt a retailer in a traditional sense, and i assume that is the reason for such packaging???

Stacey do you know the meaning of the word shill.

Shill" can also be used pejoratively to describe a critic who appears either all-too-eager to heap glowing praise upon mediocre offerings, or who acts as an apologist for glaring flaws. In this sense, they would be an implicit "shill" for the industry at large, possibly because their income is tied to its prosperity.
