Spencer's Gourmet Beef Jerky - Sweet & Spicy Orange

Spencer's Gourmet Beef Jerky - Sweet & Spicy Orange

Grade: B

This is one interesting jerky. I had never heard of Spencer's before trying this jerky and from looking at their flavor varieties on their site, it looks like they have some interesting flavors. This flavor's name describes this jerky perfectly. When you first try this jerky the orange flavor is really the standout flavor that you get. After chewing it for a while the spiciness kicks in, it's not too hot but there is a little heat to it. I also caught a "pineapple" flavor in this jerky and then when I read the ingredients I saw that it does have some pineapple juice listed as one of the ingredients. The flavor is unique and is quite good. The texture is too thick for me and when you chew the jerky it turns kind of powdery instead of making for a nice long chew. The texture really pushed this jerky into a B category. I'm still looking forward to their other flavors and will eventually try them all out. You can order Spencer's Gourmet Jerky from their website, www.spencersjerky.com. The jerky costs $3.50 for 1.75 ounces, their shipping is reasonable and even offer free shipping on orders over $25.00. If a Sweet & Spicy Orange Jerky that has a hint of pineapple to it sounds interesting to you then you should give it a shot.
